Ecton Caravan

We hope you're looking forward to your stay. Please read through the following information and watch the instructional videos before you arrive, see you soon!

Check-In

Check-in is from 3pm. On arrival please park in the parking bay labelled 'Ecton Caravan' in front of the caravan itself. Once you see the gate, you'll find the parking bay opposite. The key for the caravan will be in the door so help yourself. If you need anything, just pop round to the on-site Reception and we'll be happy to help.

Check-Out

Check-out is at 10am. Please make sure you switch off the lights and you have all your belongings. The key can be left in the door so that the cleaners can gain access straight away. Thank you.

Please watch the video below which shows how to lock and unlock the caravan.

Dogs

Dogs and pets are more than welcome, but please don't get muddy paw prints on the white bed linen. A charge of £80 will be made if you do. Because of the clay in our soil, mud doesn't wash out of the bed linen and it is very expensive to buy - we like quality here. Please don't use the towels for wiping down wet or dirty doggies, and please try to respect the accommodation as much as you can.

Electricity

The caravan is operated on a 10-Amp circuit. This means that 10 Amps of electricity are shared between the lights, plug sockets, TV, appliances, and heating. We have a 240V system, so you have a total of 2400 watts into the caravan. This means that, if you plug in your phones, the kettle, the microwave and put the toaster on, the electricity is likely to trip depending on the wattage each item is using. For example, as you’ll see below, you can select a 1000W setting for the heating. If you do this, you only have 1400W left to use. The microwave has an output wattage of over 1000W, leaving you with just 400W. If you then switch on the kettle and TV, you’ll overload the circuit and trip the electric. We recommend using the heating on a 500W setting and being very mindful about not using more than three appliances in one go. For example, it’s best not to use the kettle and the microwave at the same time as running the heating and fridge. If you do trip the electrics, the trip switch is located outside the caravan on the main hook-up.

Note: In the winter months you’ll be supplied with an additional plug-in 400W heater – please only use this either on its own or in conjunction with the 500W heating setting.
