Hartington Hills Horsebox

Horsebox Coffee Cart & Bar

New for 2026: the Hartington Hills Horsebox! The horsebox serves coffees between 8am and 10am and transforms into a bar between 5pm and 7pm. It is only open on weekends through the low and shoulder seasons, but is open all week during bank holidays and the summer holidays. It has been a real success so far and customers have enjoyed having a space to chat to other campers or stop by for a drink on their way out for dinner. When operating as a coffee cart, we also sell pastries and muffins/cakes. Our coffee is top quality barista style coffee using our lovely Sanremo coffee machine and locally roasted beans.
Toilets Showers

Toilets & Showers

Our toilet and shower facilities are the jewel in the crown at Hartington Hills. They are underfloor-heated for toasty toes, the showers and taps do not operate on a push-button basis, and the hot water is supplied by a biomass boiler with a 5000L capacity meaning that you'll never be short of hot water. They are finished with the highest quality and cleaned meticulously, they are a firm favourite with our regulars.

EV chargers

New for 2025: we have installed 2 brand new EV chargers at the front of the site. We do not allow EV charging at the pitch, but the two new chargers we have installed are available for anyone to use and provide an important facility, especially considering our rural location where access to charging points can be limited.

Aerial view of dog walking field

Dog walking field

We offer a 2-acre dog walking field with paths mown around the outside and a labryinth mown into the meadow grass. The labyrinth is not a maze so you can't get lost; to walk the labyrinth takes 5-10 minutes and it will guide you to the exit. Simply stay on the path. We ask that dogs are kept on leads to protect them and our free-range hens.
Fire Pit at Hartington Hills

Fire-Pits & BBQs

We are a fire-pit and BBQ friendly site. You can hire fire pits from the on-site shop, and firewood, kindling, firelighters and barbecues can be purchased as well. We ask that the fire pits be used on hardstanding where possible, and that a heat protector mat be hired from the shop if you are on a grass pitch. S'mores here we come!

Recreation

We have a mown area on our North field which is perfect for ball games and for children to play. In this area we have picnic bench seating so adults can enjoy amazing views and sunsets whilst keeping an eye as children play. Recycling 1024x709

Recycling

Our recycling area is very simple. All waste including cardboard, plastic, food waste, paper and non-recyclable waste can be put into the big black bins. Glass must be placed in the smaller wheelie bins. The black bins and smaller glass bins are then taken away by our commercial waste partner and sorted at their facility. All cardboard, plastic and glass is sorted and sent by the truck load to be recycled. All non-recyclable waste is sent to a waste-to-energy facility, where processes like combustion, gasification and anaerobic digestion are used to produce electricity, heat or fuel. Our commercial waste partner is an Upper Tier waste facility and they are subject to regular inspections. They are a local family business who take nil to landfill very seriously.
